Before NopalCyber, the experts on our team spent years on the front lines of cybersecurity, some on in-house security teams and others at MSSPs, where they saw from both angles the struggles facing organizations of all sizes. Security teams were overworked and under-resourced, and companies faced increasing cyber risk across ever more attack vectors, with cyber budgets that couldn’t keep up. Our team felt the pain of the problem—which developed into a vision for the solution.

As our mission and vision took shape, an unexpected form began to emerge: a cactus. The more we talked about what cybersecurity could and should be, the more the cactus felt like a perfect symbol. A cactus is surrounded by powerful protections that fend off any attacker from any angle.
Better yet, the cactus has a tiny attack surface and the confidence of complete security—and it thrives as a result of this resilience, even in the harsh desert. We want clients to be like a cactus, where their cybersecurity feels extensive, effortless, and essential to their success, so we adopted Nopal (like the nopal cactus) as our name.
